This section is devoted to photographs of the Town
Mountain scenic corridor or taken from this area between Asheville and the Blue Ridge Parkway. Random subjects
ranging from animals and birds to wild flowers, with heavy emphasis on sunrise and sunset. Hopefully this will
inspire you to make photo contributions!

All the comforts of home! She returned later with three cubs and the feeder was retired. |
The bear population has exploded in the 15 years I have owned property on Town Mountain. My greatest concern is that my grandchildren like to play along the stream bed from the Dairy Gap Spring. It is easy to come between a mother and her cubs. |
Probably the most photographed of the sights seen from Town Mountain Road
are the sunrises and sunsets. This may also be one of the top reasons for living in the area.

What would summer be without butterflies? Cone flowers are a favorite. |
Bowman's Root, although relatively rare, is found on north slopes. |

A Luna moth at our front door. It often is found at Walnut Trees which is its food source. |
The Spotted Mandarin which is rare but is seen in several areas along Town Mountain Road |
This large Jack in the Pulpit lasted for weeks under its own large leaf,
sheltered from the sun.
