Joe Sechler Appointed to Planning Board

Joe Sechler, former president of FoTM, was appointed to a three-year term on the Buncombe County Planning Board by County Commissioners at their Nov. 4 meeting.  Joe was nominated by Commissioner David Gantt and approved unanimously by the board.  Congratulations Joe!

Current Planning Board members Les Mitchell, Brian Bartlett, Rod Hudgins and Scott Hughes were appointed to second three-year terms.  Other new members appointed to the Planning Board are: Vernon Dover, a retired Progress Energy account executive; Michelle Wood, developer and real estate agent; Greg Phillips, mortgage broker; Tom Alexander, executive with Taylor and Murphy Construction Co.

We are disappointed that the Commissioners did not choose to diversify the Planning Board membership with additional members not associated with the construction, development and real estate industries but are pleased that they have made a start with the appointment of Joe Sechler.
