The purpose of Friends of Town Mountain (FoTM) is to educate our members, the general public, and local officials on environmental issues in order to promote responsible development along the seven mile length of the Town Mountain Road neighborhood of Asheville, Buncombe County, North Carolina, while supporting environmentally responsible development in all the counties and municipalities of Western North Carolina.

Welcome to the Friends of Town Mountain web site! Here you will find the latest news and information about happenings on Town Mountain and issues that matter to most of us. Please join us and read read about what’s going on and how your friends and neighbors feel about various topics (local development issues, ‘dark skies’, motorcycle racing and safety along TMR, wildlife, gardening, bike riding, you name it). That’s it.  So, once again, welcome, and do visit often!

The authors on this site are required to be residents of Town Mountain. If you are a resident and are interested in either being an author please contact the FoTM board with your proposal. Comments on this site are moderated. So they will need to be approved by the author of the post which is being commented on.
